Hello everyone! Who else is excited for the season of Lent and a time for deeper study and reflection as we approach the week of Easter?! I’m so excited to share with you a couple of the new kits that Open Journey has created for Lent and Holy week so be sure to check out my unboxing video below to see the products in more detail and hear my thoughts on them.
The “Come With Me” devotional kit is a revised version of last year’s kit which was only available as a digital option. The kit is now available in a physical kit as well and the devotional content has been reworked and more artwork has been added. This kit is absolutely beautiful and, as always, Ingrid takes us on a beautifully visual journey through Bible passages, history, and word studies. There is something deeply emotional about working through the Open Journey devotionals and you really get a feeling for Ingrid’s love of Christ.
Come with Me – A kit for creative bible study and journaling focusing on a retreat with God, the Last supper and Passover and certain highly symbolic elements from the Lords Passion with connections to the Old Testament. The kit also has a list with daily Gospel readings for the entire Lent, besides the devotional scripture references (which are many). The daily scripture readings are on a separate beautiful list – each reading has a chosen title with key words which are also printed on clear sticker, so you can use these headers in your daily journaling. There are 15 sheets clear sticker sheets with lots of art and headers, and that’s just the stickers. There 14 strips of washi and many cardstock cards and other elements along with die cuts.
A large bundle of art, devo and scripture to inspire you over the whole Lent.
The florals in this kit are all flowers blooming in the Judaean desert, the place our Lord retreated for fasting and prayer.

In addition to the “Come With Me” devotional kit for Lent, Ingrid has created the “Scriptural Stations of the Cross” devotional kit in a physical and digital option. This is a smaller kit which focuses on the 14 Scriptural Stations of the Cross and is a great one to work through during Holy Week.
The Scriptural Stations of the Cross, also known as the Way of Sorrows, the Way of the Cross or the Via Crucis, refers to a series of images depicting Jesus Christ on the day of his crucifixion and accompanying prayers. The stations grew out of imitations of Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem which is believed to be the actual path Jesus walked to Mount Calvary. To help meditate on the Passion of Christ, you may take this pilgrimage and walk the Holy Week in His footsteps.
The series of 14 images depicting Jesus through His Passion, are black and white ink drawings, simple and raw, marking each event and calling us to stop and meditate. It is a very moving process that can be done any time but especially useful through Lent, Holy Week and Holy (Good) Friday. The 14 illustrations are reproduced in the devotional booklet as 14 full page illustrations, and also come in separate 14 cards (5″x3″) that can be used as journaling cards, can be framed or used as tags… Also they come in a round stamp shape, printed on clear labels, each image marking your station, where you rest, pray and journal in your bible or faith journal.

I was never familiar with this type of study and am really looking forward to working through it in my Growth Book this year. You can find more information about the Stations of the Cross here in case it’s something that you weren’t familiar with either. I love how Ingrid encourages us to go into deeper study with our Bibles and she really brings the historical culture alive through her artwork and words.

In addition to these two new kits, Open Journey carries a variety of vinyl stickers, art prints and verse cards. These verse cards would be great for verse memorization with your kiddos or just to keep in your purse to pass along to a friend or leave in a public space!
The products from Open Journey always inspire me to get a little messy and try my hand at my own mixed media projects. Here are a few different products that I’ve pulled to color match the “Come With Me” kit but don’t be afraid to pull out what you have in your stash and just focus on the amazing study that Ingrid has put together for us.
I hope you will head on over to the Open Journey shop (affiliate links below) and grab some goodies to use as we take some time to study God’s Word during Lent and Holy Week. Don’t forget that most of the products are available in both a physical and digital version depending on what works best for you!
