Lent 2018

Hello everyone! Today I’m sharing how I plan on journaling through Lent this year using some printables from the Illustrated Faith Print and Pray shop as well as a traveler’s notebook insert (TN insert). Be sure to check out my corresponding process videos below and over on my channel to see how it came together but I also give a little pep talk that will hopefully motivate you if you are feeling overwhelmed by all of the projects going on right now.

I have a problem with starting TN insert projects and not finishing them…probably because I have so many other projects going but I also struggle with creating in a TN insert. When I saw Brianna Showalter’s Lent Kit in the Illustrated Faith Print and Pray shop I instantly fell in love with the look and style but was hesitant because I knew my history with TN inserts.

I decided to take the “Jesus is:” and “So I Am:” statements and use them as prompts for daily scripture writing. Each of the 40 words/phrases in the kit includes a suggested verse so I decided to keep it simple and just write the scriptures out. I can then use my time to study the verse further, read cross references, and check out commentaries on the verses instead of using all of my time creating.

I pulled out my stash of alpha stickers and used the printables printed out on clear label paper to add some color and interest to the pages. Even though the set up was simple, this projects still took over an hour to set up so I’m glad I did all of the work up front.
